Governance

Throughout my career I've served on numerous boards of directors, advisory groups, steering committees and more, often in leadership

roles. I've started new departments and company-wide initiatives at Swedish and US companies, to affect change demanded by the

marketplace and/or government regulators. From having worked with numerous partnerships across the business, government and

NGO/nonprofit sectors, I strive to bring a holistic approach to governance roles. Following are some examples:

What do people say about b&a?

"Thank you for an outstanding presentation during our board of directors seminar! Your contribution reached exactly the objective we had."

  • Sustainability goals linked to diversity
For companies to fully realize the contributions of diversity to their fulfilling ESG objectives, leaders need to understand shared value creation, which can impact operations throughout product/service life cycles. Especially
where Social Impact is concerned, understanding the dynamics of diversity is critical. Over 30+ years I've been involved with numerous cross-sector collaborations where parties have benefitted from shared value creation.

  • Leading through cultural differences Sweden-USA
On the surface we appear quite alike. But when organizational change is the topic, whether due to an acquisition, or entering the market "over there", or even boardroom and management committee decision making processes, our differences can have very costly effects if not properly managed. I understand both sides of the equation, and have assisted in change management at companies such as GE Healthcare, Amersham and Elekta.

  • Codes of conduct
A code of conduct must be viewed as a "living document" by a company's employees. This begins with clearly identifying organizational objectives based on core values and on top leadership's ambition level for what a Code is to accomplish. I've assisted two A-list companies on the Swedish Stock Exchange in the crucial early stages of their "CoC" development.

  • Executive coaching
My years of experience working at (and with) top leadership levels in both Sweden and the US enable me to provide
mature counsel to executives who are either new in their roles or who may be facing new challenges outside of their comfort zones. In particular, the great majority of top leaders lack an understanding of both the opportunties and risks associated with leading companies in a multicultural market. My having worked in areas such as sales, marketing, legal, talent management and manufacturing enables me to add holistic perspectives.

  • Service on boards of directors
My work with governance stretches back to my earliest school days in student government, while my corporate governance lessons started in the early 1990s when the COSO risk management framework was applied by US bank regulators to assess our compliance processes. With my many years of experience in both Sweden and the USA, I am able to apply my knowledge to organizational development of companies and organizations.
